I just got a aftermarket auto tach for my 74 evinrude 85hp. When I hook it up to the existing gray tach lead and also to 12+ and ground I get no reading. I tried every wire on the wire block and also tried tapping directly off the rectifier. Everything I have tried failed. Is there some trick...
