Do I need to redesign my bunks?

I recently acquired a 22-foot swing-keel sailboat. The trailer has long bunks on it made from two-by's probably 2x10's. They flex under the weight of the boat as I pull it up the ramp. The result of this is the bow is not in same place as it was when I cranked it up. It actually moves downward...

    1959 35HP With No Spark

Here's the background: Johnson 1959 35HP Super Seahorse, with Johnson electric start, that has been running for years. It was getting hot and ran rough, so I took it to a pro two years ago, who replaced the impeller, did a carb job and some other things, and it was running great. However, I...

    Can't find 1/4" 3-ply marine plywood

I'm restoring my Father-in-la's 1959 MFG Celeron, which has a fiberglass hull and a wood deck. The wood covering the bow was damaged beyond repair, so I'm replacing it. The original was 1/4" (6mm) 3-ply. Everything I've found in 1/4" his 5-ply (per Lloyd's BS 1088). I'd like to use the same...

Rub-rail question for wood-top MFG owners

I will be replacing the wood deck on the bow of my 1959 Celeron, along with refinishing the rest of the wood, this Spring, and to do that I must remove the rub-rail. This could be tough because it's getting brittle, but with some care and a little heat I hope to do it without ruining it...

    1959 Johnson 35 HP behavior

I have a 1959 Johnson Super Seahorse 35 HP motor, electric start, with controls up front (Johnson Ship Master controls). I recently took over maintenance of this from Father-in-law. I'm working to keep it going, along with the 1959 MFG it came with, and I have some learning to do. I've ordered...

    MFG Celeron 1959 cleanup project

It's not a restoration, as it's in pretty decent condition, and it's hardly a "project" compared to what some of you folks are involved in, but I was recently given responsibility for my Father-in-law's 1959 MFG Celeron and am working to clean it up for regular use with my family. One picture...

Looking for info on my MFG 15

Greetings. I have recently been given usage of and responsibility for my Father-in-law's MFG. It's a 15-footer, fiberglass hull, wood deck, split front seat and folding, full-width rear seat. It has a Johnson Super Sea-Horse 35 on it, which might just be the original motor, as I think it's from...
