Does the flywheel have a certain way that it goes on? the flywheel on my motor will not go down far enough for the starter gear to catch it and turn the motor over.
the coils were off when i bought the boat. i went and bought new coils(2) and i don't know how to wire the back up there are 2 wires a green and black wire on each of the coils nad more wires running out of the motor were the coils go.

i boughta 1966 johnson and the coils were already took off how do the coils wire up. it has 2 wires on each coil and two wires running from the motor. Where do they connect to?
