    9.9 shift shaft adjustment

    1993 4 stroke changed out waterpump but cant get the coupler/length set properly. Forgot to count the threads before i undid the coupler. Have adjusted it but cant get it set to neutral properly. There isnt an adjustment procedure in the manual that i could find. Thanks

    1991 Yamaha 9.9 4 stroke shift linkage

    For the life of me I can't disengage the upper shift rod from the lower. Shift mechanism is up and down. have backed off the 10mm locking nut but cant turn the lower shift shaft to disengage from the 10mm "barrel" nut that is attached to the upper shift rod...what am I missing.....manual...

    150 Optimax clunk in leg

    2007 Optimax 150 On weekend noticed a slight click while on plane coming from engine, about every 1-2 seconds. Thought I'll check it out this week..... all of a sudden the click becomes a clunk clunk clunk maybe 10 clunks per second.....throttled right off, put in neutral and no clunking...

    150 with 8 gauge battery cables?

    I have a new 1000amp marine battery, but only had battery cables off a 20-30hp engine (I assume about 8 gauge) othewr than the wire getting hot with cranking, would it also affect how many amps get to the starter? I have a very slow crank speed and think I need to upgrage to a 4 agw battery cables.

    Black marks on clear vinyl from bimini supports

    Don't know quite how to describe this but I know it's common. where ever there is a stainless or aluminum tubing that toouches/flaps against the clear vinyl eventually I get a black make that outlines the tubing.... does that make sense? It even happens with some powdercoated aluminum...

    Suggestions for buffing in tight areas?

    Inside corners, around hardware that can't be removed, ect.? I'm using meguires 7" buffing pads with 3M marine rubbing compound followed by finesse-it II.... Rub by hand in these areas? or a small rotary on a drill? what does everyone do in these areas? thanks

    All this talk about 3M 4200/5200...one more beef....

    Is there an alternative to 3M that won't discolor (white) after cured? I've used 4200/5200 for years and have absolutely hated it when it turns yellow. Unfortunately i trust 3M products...does sikaflex product discolor like 3 products?

    Couple of "dumb" maybe...questions.... Transom/Stringer

    1. Why is it recommended that a layer of mat be between each layer of transom plywood? Strength?, void filling properties? Would "peanut butter" trowelled with a 1/2" notched trowel accomplish the same thing? How about the notched trowel thing for attaching the plywood core to the hull skin...
