    1928 Elto battery wire question

    Got a really good deal on a 1928 4hp Elto in great shape(for 91 years old). I just have never run one , and know it needs a 6vlt battery. The wires are not marked in any way, so is there a +/- wire or doesn't it matter?

    shift rod bushing removal, 1986 30hp

    Is there a way or special tool (number?) to remove the shift rod bushing with out removing all the lower unit shaft and gears?

    What would happen if I don't have one? On my 1986 30hp, the owner before removed the anode to install a hydofoil fin.

    Looking at upgrading to a new 40hp tiller E-Tech. Does anyone know how well they handle temps in the teens and single digits? I hunt ducks in the late season and on't want the oiler system not working due to thickening oil.
