    OMC fuel tank on a Mercury?

    I would like to use a steel OMC tank on a mercury as a spare. The fuel line connection is not a problem as that can be changed. I noticed that the fuel cap does not have a screw vent as all Mercurys seem to have. Will this be a problem? Thanks

    I replaced the impeller on a 1969 Merc 7.5hp Had a hard time reattaching the lower unit,anyway long story short pumps fine ,but reverse is forward and forward is reverse. Can this be fixed without dropping the lower unit again? :confused: Thanks
