    Does my 2.3 cobra have a governor?

    was out on the lake this week, at one point had 7 people in the boat, got on plane, running about 5k rpm's, then i see the tach drop to 4k, and i have no more left on the throttle. so im wondering if i hit a governor with all the weight in the boat? kinda worried.......... Purcell

    Pulled the dipstick on the ol 2.3 and............

    After being run all summer so far, and run hard, shes clean and clear as a whistle. Im a OMC cobra owner, and proud of it. I have had great luck with this motor/ outdrive and hope there are others that have the luck with their motor as I have. Just thought id share. Purcell

    Jet drive on crestliner

    I know this is for non engine related topics, but not sure where else to post this topic. Has anyone ever installed a jet drive on an I/O equipped boat? I have an 88 2.3 omc with cobra outdrive, and thinking how sweet it would be to run a vortec 350 fuel injection with an American Turbine SD 309...

    Where should the oil level be on the dipstick for the lower unit? should it be to the top of the stick? thanks Purcell

    Day out on the lake with my family!!!!!!!

    Well it was hot out today, so i decided to pack the kids and wife up and hit the water!!!!!!!!!     88 Crestliner top speed

    Just bought a new boat. 1988 Nordic Crestliner V175 with a 2.3 ford with OMC cobra outdrive. This thing runs MINT. I have had it out on the water a few times since the purchase, and seems to run great, plane great, so on and so forth...... Question is, I know this was a pretty under powered...
