    Swapping Engines - outdrive question

    I have a 97 good 3.0LX mercruiser with a 1.94R outdrive. I have a bad 99 3.0 mercruiser with a 2.00R outdrive. I put the 97 engine with the 2.00R outdrive. Is that OK? or do i need to leave that 99LX motor with the 1.94R outdrive? kind of confusing .... Thanks for your help.
