    Can I install my seat base over carpet?

    I have put in my new deck coated in epoxy, 1708 and gelcoated. I am going to put carpet on the deck. My seat bases are wide. Can I install the seats on the carpet or should I cut out the carpet around the base and attach directly to the deck? CTS
