    How can I start this 55hp with a toggle switch system, instead of the ignition system

    Where can I get controls for my motor? 1968 Johnson 55hp

    Part number 0379657 everywhere says discontinued, I don't know what to do, I just got this motor and I have the positive and negative wire coming out, and I have another cable coming out about 2 inches with like 10 wires inside of it,,,, is there anything I can do?? Got the motor for 100 bucks...

    Only running wide open when choked...

    So I have a 9.9hp 77 Johnson that will not start and idle unless it is fully choked and then when I hit the throttle it dies out or if I push the choke back in it dies,,.... and then I have a 91 25hp johnson that will start and run and idle just fine with no joke but when I give it gas it dies...

    Prop Question,

    So I need my 1971 25hp Johnson rehubbed I think ,, the prop, I have a 55 evinrude 25hp, will that prop bolt up or no? Just wondering I would assume not, also whats the best place to get a prop brand new or is it easier just to get it rehubbed? Thanks!

    25hp slipping out of gear ?

    New problem now, just took it back out, to mess with it, didnt even open the lid on the motor and just went up and down river a few times running great then all of a sudden at full power it sounded like the prop just started free spinning and lost all power, engine just revved up like crazy...

    How do I press flywheel back on?

    I had to get the 3 prong thing to take the flywheel off, I reset my points now I have to put the flywheel back on, do I have to press it back on ?     1971 Johnson 25hp (No Spark in Top Cylinder)

    Just got this locally today from a pawn shop. Carb is superior clean, I took all apart, looks amazing. Didn't even check for spark like I should have. Has good compression in both cylinders. I also bought 2 new spark plugs, Champion J8C's correct me if those are wrong thats what I was referred...

    1955 25hp Evinrude Tilt won't lock when up.

    As the title says it locks in the down position but then when I hit release and raise the motor up all the way it doesnt click in to lock, even if i move the release lever around is there something I'm missing?

    What size prop for '77 9.9hp Johnson

    Got a 9.9 2 stroke, 77 johnson, wondering what would be the best replacement, I use it in a very shallow river, and hit sometimes, and its usually just me and a buddy with a empty boat, 12' Aluminum Sea Nymph flat bottom, what is my best bet? Thanks

    So over the past few days I've worked on getting this going, finally I'm here I'm gonna keep it short. I cleaned the carb, replaced plugs, checked spark, checked compression, replaces gas lines and gas,. Started motor ran good, idles and would wind out real nice, Now the motor starts first...

    So I found the one on top, the flathead one and I assumed this was the one for the bottom where I drain it from because there wasn't one on the other side so I figured it was the right one, like on my 9.9 johnson, it is the same, but I later come to find there is another one identical to the top...

    Is it ok to put a 25 in gear out of water?

    Is it ok for a 25 to be put into gear out of water but with the bunny ears over the intake ? I just didn't know about free spinning the prop without the load on it from the water
