    ' 99 Volvo 5.0GL PBYC, Hot Coil

    Installed new non-resister coil in my 5.0 GL ( BID ignition), primary and secondary windings checked sat before installed, a half hour on the garden hose and I could only keep my hand on it for a few seconds, seems way too hot? All connections are correct and tight, any thoughts???

    '99 5.0 gl oil level increase in crankcase

    Several months ago, engine had excessive blue smoke in exhaust, found oil level high and w/fuel dilution. Had 2 barrel holly rebuilt, eng. runs well but high oil level has returned w/fuel dilution. Aprox 1/2 quart above safe line. Have not had boat underway since carb rebuild. Is this choke...

    High Temp Water discharge Mercruiser 3.0

    The discharge at the drive is so hot you can only keep your hand under it a few seconds, the temp gage reads aprox 160-170 and the engine diesels a little at shut off. Is the discharge water temp normal for the 3.0? I have a 5.0 gl that is luke warm at discharge. Thanks for any ideas.

    Resister coil vs non resister coil

    How does one determine if they have a resister or non resister coil if it is not written on the coil. I found out the hard way that my boat uses a resister after a shop sold me a non resister and it burned up. Thanks.

    '99 Volvo 5.0 GL turns over doesn't start

    My 5.0 GL ran a fews days ago, today it turns over but doesn't start. Battery is fully charged and 800 amps, have not load tested it. Meter shows 7.78 volts at coil on pos and neg connections with key on. Not seeing spark with a spark tester at lead from coil to distb, but did see slight spark...

    '96 3.0 Mercruiser Diesels

    Started my 3.0 Mercruiser today, had flame shoot out carb, started and ran fine but diesels when turning it off. Had engine rebuilt (aprox 5 hrs on it) . Wondering if timing might be off? Any Ideas??

    Trailer for Larson

    I have a 24 larson cabrio with a stepped hull, and was wondering if the center of the boat should be supported. The trailer that came with it has the side bunks but theres nothing in the center for support. The boat is 5000 libs. Thanks for any advice.
