    I'm doing an overhaul on my motor and I've noticed that several different piston part numbers are applicable to my motor. Can you use a 2ring piston to replace a 3 ring piston and what would be the disadvantages of this? It's a '73 1150 115. SN3027266

    I'm replacing 3 pistons on my '73 merc 115. I looked up my part numbers with a part finder on a website and it's showing me a 2 piston ring kit. Is there a difference between the 2 ring kit and the 3?
