    Compression

    What would be considered good compression, on a older 70's, 50 hp Mercury 4 cyl. Would 149 each cyl. be adequate? I'm considering buying this motor, and that struck me as high number. Thought I should check with you guys. Thanks for your response.

    Evinrude 28 & 30 hp motor

    Hope someone has time to answer this. On the 1994 Evinrude model, was the 28 & 30 hp motors identical, just marketed different? Also were they oil injected. Thanks for any reply.

    25 HP Yamaha for small pontoon boat

    Will appreciate any reply. I have a small 18' pontoon boat, and am looking at a new 25 hp Yamaha motor. Am wondering if this motor is powerful enough, to push this boat, at normal cruising, and would the motor the motor be strained to do so. Thanks.

    Two kind members on this forum, just advised me I have a 1987 Johnson 88 special, instead of a 1990 as I was led to believe by seller. I will be contacting the seller, and would appreciate knowing the difference in the model years. Thanks.
