    Whats this called

    The switch that is located with the shifting linkage and prevents the motor from starting in gear. This is on a 1983 25 HP mercury.

    25 hp merc won't stop.

    This is a 1983 model with the kill switch located on the end of the tiller. It is a push button that no longer seems to work. Any help regarding what the problem could be or how to repair. I am assuming you have to get at the switch by taking the tiller arm apart somehow....thanks dabow
