Center console cover for trailering or not?

Hi All Getting ready to head to Minnesota (West Battle Lake) for a week, and it is a 7 hour drive. Forecast calls for rain for a good part of the drive. I am wondering if I should try to cover the center console (19' Pro Line Sport) to protect console, guages etc from the rain, of if they...

I think I know why my livewell and washdown do not work... now, how to fix it

After crawling on my head to see into the bilge, I found that my ballcock was turned off..(boat is new to me) , and after a little inspection I found out why... looks like the livewell and washdown are combined into a single intake, fitted with a ballcock...which is a good thing... The livewell...

Is a VHF Marine Radio a good idea in MN and IA waters on 19' boat, or is it a waste?

I am updating and adding several pieces of equipment to my 19' Proline fishing boat, which is mainly used in Minnesota and Iowa lakes (nothing in the Mississippi or Missouri rivers is planned). Some of the lakes are larger such as West Battle, Okaboji, Lake of the Woods, many are smaller lakes...

2001 Proline 19 Sport Center Console- drilling holes under console for wiring harness

I have a new-to-me 19 Sport Center Console, and I am installing 2 minnkota on-board battery chargers, 1 3-bank charger (MK330D) for the trolling motor (batteries in bow), and a 2 -bank charger (MK220D) for cranking & house batteries in stern. Seems to me the most logical place to mount the...

How much "Transom Flex" is too much...

OK, I have spent the last 2 weeks reading all the repair and rebuild postings, and what is involved in replacing stringers and transoms... so now I may just be paranoid... but I must ask the question. So I was able to get out on the water today myself with my 1986 Bayliner 18' fiberglass bass...

    Picture Posting help

I am wondering why when I do an "insert image" I get a small thumbnail in my post, that must be clicked on to see the full size picture. I have seen that others actually have full size pics embedded in their post. What am I doing differently than they are doing? I know there must be a trick to...

Did 1986 Bayliner Bass Boats have Tilt Steering wheels?

This may be silly, but I have had my 86 Bayliner Bass boat for a couple of years, I always thought the steering wheel was tilted up oddly, but just went with it anyway. I discovered this weekend a threaded fitting on the underside of the steering column, and it got me thinking... could this be...

1986 Force 125.... was hard to start, I fixed it, now it wont start at all

OK, this is where I am loosing my mind... 1986 Force 125. Was running OK, but was hard to start. I attributed that to the boat sitting last summer, and gas mucking up the carbs. Decided to remove carbs and clean, and this is what I have done: 1. Removed carbs (1 at a time), removed bowl...

Lowrance Elite-7 HDS... recommendations / Suggestions?

I think it is time to replace the 27 year old fishfinders on my 1986 Bayliner bass boat (Eagle II in bow, Hummingbird at wheel console). I think I will probably move the Hummingbird to the bow, with transducer on trolling motor, and have new unit at the wheel. After researching quite a few, I...

86 Force 125 - is my speed about right for this motor?

Finally got a chance to take my 86 Bayliner Bass Boat (18') out on water that I could open it up to WOT. At WOT I was running about 4500 RPM, 35 mph per boat speedo, (39 mph per GPS on my droid). I have a stainless prop (no idea how to determine the pitch of it) It was an extremely windy day...
