    I have a Johnson 50 HP, J50PLSSM. So I was checking my idle timing and hooked up my timing light to the #1 spark plug wire and cranked her up. It was perfect, 1 degree ATDC matching my service manual specs. Here's the stupid part. Do you also need to check timing on the #2 plug wire?
