    Leaking oil - should I clean?

    1987 evinrude XP150. I noticed a build up of oil on the engine, especially around carbs. I thought about spraying heavily with brake cleaner to "clean it up". I was worried about the effect of brake cleaner on rubber hoses and other parts. What do you think?

    I am disconnecting and removing my VRO pump on an 1987 evinrude XP150. I understand from many post here that the VRO pump is both a oil pump and fuel pump. Does that mean that I will have to install an electric fuel pump if I remove the VRO pump?
