    Thought I had a pump problem so I changed the impeller. Warning horn still makes intermintent and continuous beep-beep when I turn key but not start. What checks are being made when key is turn to pretest position.

I removed prop, trim tab, four bolts (two on each side) and one bolt behind the trim tab. Also shifted gear Forward as book says. The lower unit still will not budge. Is this thing welded...

    Removing lower unit of outboard

    I am attempting to change a impeller on a Mercury tracker marine 115hp 4cyl outboard. I took off the bolts, but noticed that the lower unit fits in pretty snug. Question: is there a special tool or procedure for removing lower unit or just beat it off with a sledge hammer or rubber mallet.
