No diagrams in How Mercruiser Thunderbolt ignition systems work link

So I'm trying to diagnose an ignition problem. I read the sticky post at the top. There is a link to how thunderbolt ignitions work. It has troubleshooting steps but none of the images work. Can anyone update it??

    No spark possibly coil?

I replaced my plugs/wires/cap/rotor. The boat was running fantastic. Started better than ever. Then after 30 minutes on the water it sputtered and died. Now it won't start. It is a 2001 5.0 alpha 1 thunderbolt v ignition carbureted motor. It won't start on starting fluid either. I got my spark...

Poor idle only with full tank of gas

I have a 2001 Merc 5.0 with thunderbolt V ignition, carburetor engine. The last two times I've gotten a full tank of fuel the idle is terrible when in gear. It barely stays running. It has been fine once I burn up some fuel. Different fuel docks each time. What gives? Is it possible to...

Boat power cuts off when I turn the key

I've been having an intermittent issue with my boat. It is a 2001 Bayliner with a 5.0 Mercruiser, alpha 1 Thunderbolt V ignition. Sometimes when I go to start the engine, usually on a cold start (with bilge blower running) as soon as I bump the starter all power to the boat is lost. Almost...

    2001 Mercruiser 5.0 plug change

It looks like the cooling hoses for the manifold/risers block the front 4 plugs. Any tips to make this easier? I'm thinking I need to remove the hoses for access.

    Fresh paint Chrysler 140

Just got my engine hooked back up. Motor is a 1978 140hp chrysler. My kingpin froze and I couldn't turn the motor. With help from the forum I removed my powerhead and swapped it onto a good middle section. Resealed my lower unit and replaced all the seals in the tilt/trim. I stripped the paint...

    Tilt cylinder leaking fluid

Just got my motor back on the boat after doing the tedious task of rebuilding my trim/tilt on a 78 chrysler 140hp. It lifts and lowers but the tilt cylinder is leaking fluid out at the top where the hydraulic line connects. There's a metal band with a fitting on it and I think it's stripped...

Gear lube leaking from water intake

There is gear lube leaking from the water intake on my Chrysler 140 lower unit. Would this be caused by the large o rings on the bearing carrier or from the drive shaft seal or somewhere else?

    Chrysler 140hp trim removal

I'm trying to remove the trim and tilt from my motor so I can swap the kingpin/swivel bracket off a parts motor. Any tips on getting the bolt out that holds it all together? I've read it can be tough if the boat has seen salt, mine has of course. I attached a pic of what I'm trying to remove.

    Chrysler 140 Steering Stuck

So I've had 3 or so seasons of trouble free operation because of all the advice from this forum and especially Frank Acampora. But unfortunately this year I've run into a problem. Last season the steering was very tight. This year I've found it completely stuck. I read through some threads...

    Prop Spacer 90 HP Yamaha

My motor is a 2008 yamaha 2 stroke 90 hp. I replaced my prop today, the new one (solas aluminum) did not come with any hardware, my question is does it need a spacer between the prop and the castle nut or no? When I took it apart it went prop, I think a spacer, then a washer, then the castle...

    Running now, but only fast

The 78 140 hp will now run, but only in gear. It won't run in fast warm up, but if I start it up in gear it'll run to down to about 1800 rpms then die if I give it any less throttle than that.
