    100hp Tilt and trim question.

    My tilt and trim motor went out the other day. Is it ok if i remove tilt and trim unit completely and just use a rod to hold motor in place? I can load it on the trailer without moving motor. just thinking if i hit anything with it in the locked position it would be bad bad bad.

    Classic 50 mercury timing

    Tested timing to make sure trigger is working right. On almost every cylinder it fires about an inch past timing indicator. Is this normal or out of time? BTW I just spun the motor over without it actually running
