    Red Cedar for stringers?

    Anyone ever tried Red Cedar as stringers? Seams like this would be real rot resistant , should soak up epoxy well too. Any thoughts on this idea?????? Thanks again, RR

    Threaded Bilge Plug ?

    My '62 Fabuglas has the threaded type plug that screws into the bottom center drain hole of transom to keep water from entering bilge area and I assume to remove and let the bilge area drain/dry after a day on the lake.     VOID IN BOW FROM MOLDING PROCESS?????'S

    MY '62 FABUGLAS HAS A HOLE IN THE BOW THAT IS ABOUT 8 INCHES LONG ABOUT 3/4 INCHES DEEP THAT WAS ORIGINALLY MOLDED INTO THE DESIGN OF THE BOAT.     Epoxy over Polyester resin?

    I am planning on repairing my hull and stringers on my '62 Fabuglas Runabout with epoxy resin. I am quite sure polyester resin is the original resin used for laminating the hull and stringers. Will using epoxy resin over this be a sound repair. Will it adhere to the old polyester and be strong...

    E vs. S type fiberglass cloth?

    Can anyone help me solve the issue of E vs. S type cloth? I know S type is supposedly 25 to 30% stronger than E type , but if using an epoxy resin instead of polyester would there really be that much difference in the strength between the two types? Thanks for any advice , RR

    Floor Rot ??????'S

    I have a "62 Fabuglas Runabout with some serious floor issues. Deck has several large rotten spots and two of the three stringers are not in the best of shape either. Middle stringer appears to be solid with no rot but other two are quite rotten in spots where glass only went 1/2 way up...
