    Ok I'm replacing my fuel lines and pumps in a 73 1150 in-line 6. Pulled the upper pump and there is droplets of water behind the diaphragm. I assume that is not normal. What could cause this?     I had another post about fuel pumps. but now I'm on to something else just want to double check my info. fuel pumps are replaced, carbs cleaned (seats and float needles replaced as well as gaskets). Idle screws set to 1 1/2 turns out. The problem is I can't get it to start or stay running...

    Mercury 1150 fuel pump question

    I've got an older 72-73 merc 1150 and I need to replace the fuel pumps (older style triangle shape) I can't get to the lower one it's below the level of the lower cowl is there a trick to getting to it without pulling the power head? I can't figure out how to get the lower cowl off otherwise.
