    21p to 23p high 5?

    I tried a 4 blade 14.5”x 20p and a high 5 21p. The 4 blade was running about 5200rpms on a 5.0 gxi and the high 5 was at 5000-5100. The high 5 did wonders and felt smooth. I am a little high for the wot rpms at 5000 being the max. Should I try to find a high 5 23p or call it goood? Thanks

    I am looking to replace the 6 nuts that hold the out drive on. The dealer I use is an hour away and told me that a stainless lock nut from Home Depot will work.     Mercarb help please

    Just got done rebuilding a 2bl mercarb and fired it up. The fast idle screw binds up the choke plate. I’m sure it’s something silly. When I adjust the screw to where I need it as far as idle, it won’t allow the choke plate to move. Thanks

    Possible carb issue or normal?

    89' 4.3 with a 2b carb. At idle on muffs runs rich. I'm at 4200'. I trolled for 10-15 minutes and went to relocate but it was flooded out.     Can you double up a thrust washer?

    I picked up a spare prop that is older and has never been used. The front of the prop bottoms out. I have an extra thrust washer and when I double them up it seems to be enough of a spacer.     4.3 merc timing retards when given throttle

    Thunderbolt IV base timing is between 8-6. When I run it up to 2400 rpms the timing mark moves counterclockwise(backwards). What am I missing?

    Top speed too low?

    I have a 1989 18' Glastron futura 185. It has a 4.3 in it with a 14x17p prop. At 4700rpm's I'm at 37mph gps checked. After reading through other threads it seems my top speed is low. Can anyone chime in? Thanks
