    85 hp evinrude takes a few moments to quit after shutting down.

    Been working on this 85 hp v4 evinrude , Finally got the hard starting problem fixed( fuel pump was bad) Now it doesn't want to shut down when I turn the ignition key off. It runs on for a bit then finally dies. Doesn't do it every time. ? any ideas?

    Evinrude 85 hp question

    Having start and idle issues with an older (1980) evinrude v4. I checked compression which seems a bit low, Around 90 psi across all 4 cylinders. Is that compression too low for the fuel pump to work properly? this motor just will not start unless I squirt some gas directly into the cylinders...
