    1972 Johnson 125hp

    Is it possible to switch the lower unit of a 1972 johnson 125hp hydro(electric shift) to a manual shift lower unit? Is the casing the same for both manual and electric? Problem is I just got the outboard and notice it has three cracks in the lower unit housing.

    Mercury 115

    What do people think about the inline 6 Mercury? Im looking for a motor for a restored 1977 16' Baja that is rated for a 120 hp. Would the inline 6 be good or would I spend more time working on it then running it?

    Filling gaps between transom and hull.

    Whats the best method for filing around the new transom and the hull? I have a small gap and I was thinking of shredding fiberglass, adding resin and packing it in the cracks with a 1 inch knife. Any pros and cons would be great.<br /><br />Thanks

    Transom drain tube

    Replacing the transom drain tube, does this require a special crimping tool? I see Wst Marine has the tubes but there is only a lip on one side of it.

    1977 16' Baja

    Looking for info about a 1977 Baja 16' finish. Did they use gel coat back then or did they paint boats? Its a blue metal flake currently and appears to be the original paint job. What kind of prep work needs to be done to repaint the boat?
