    F150 Fuel Filter Change?

. Anyone know how to change the fuel filter on my 06 Yamaha F150 TXR Looks simple enough, but if it simply unscrews, it is on very tight and I don?t want to break it at the bracket where it mounts. Also there is a wire going into the bowl from the bottom. No idea what it?s for. Doesn't...

    Rodbolt, Opinion?

As the person with the most knowledge of Yamaha outboards that I have ?contact? with, I?ve never seen you jump into any of the 2 vs 4 stroke debates or really express opinion regarding good or bad design/engineering, the best motor for an application, etc.. I for one would be interested in...

I've forgotten. Isn't one inch of pitch worth 300 - 400 RPM? What should I gain dropping 4" pitch with similar type props?

    Alternative to OEM oil filter

I recently paid $24.99 for an oil filter for my F150. While I have no problem paying a little more for OEM, this just seems excessive. An internet search of Yamaha?s part #69J-13440-00 turned this up. Here is the list for alternatives for the F-150 Yamaha. Yamaha part number ? 69J-13440-00...

    Over-propped?

I have a Ranger Reata 1850 with Yamaha F150 turning a 21 P SS prop. WOT produces about 5400 rpm @ 50 mph with a light load of fuel and passengers. Manual recommends WOT upper half of 5000 ? 6000 K band with heaviest load expected. I would like better hole shot and from what I read here this...

    Where to mount 2nd transducer?

I want to add a Lowrance X52 at the bow panel, (already have one at the helm with puck shooting through hull in the bilge). This is my first experience with fish finders and also with a NMEA 2000 network connection. I originally thought, "Great, with this network connection I won't have to add...

Hey, isn't he going too fast?

We were sitting in the boat tied to the dock next to the ramp waiting for our tow vehicle’s turn in line to haul out. We noticed a new Cadillac with a large boat backing quite fast down the ramp. As it neared the water it became apparent he wasn’t slowing down enough. His driver’s window was...

    Newbie mounting height question

My Merc 115 is obviously mounted too low on my new 17’ aluminum fish and ski. There’s a lot of spray back there at speed. The AV plate is about 1-1/8 below the center of the keel (not the center line ridge, but right beside the ridge) when the plate is parallel to the bottom of the boat. The...

    New Mercury knocks

I have a new 06 Mercury 115 4-stroke. When on the water with the cowl in place it runs and sounds normal, though not a quiet as I expected for a 4 stroke. Running on muffs with the cowl removed I can hear a knocking. Not real loud, but clearly audible. It seems to be coming from a part...
