    Is it possible....

    I just dropped the lower unit to check the impeller. I've been having an overheat problem (96 112 evinrude). When i pulled the housing i saw the key laying on the plate. So, my question is.... Is it possible for the motor to pee water if the key wasn't engaged???

    95 Evinrude lower unit

    Any tricks to getting this lower unit off. I got all the bolts removed and it drop down about 1/2 in. Now nothing, is somethinbg still connected?? Or am i just missing something?

    Still OverHeating

    Well I removed the thermostats and the t/stat assy. (After talking to a reputable outboard mechanic). Just got home from the river and the damn thang is still running hot (long steady horn when runnig). Is there a chance the impellar can **** water and still be bad?? and yes it is pissin cold...
