My friend has a 2000 four cycle 40hp mercury on a 19 foot pontoon. The boat was purchased new in 2001. From the day of delivery the 40 hp has had the following symptoms.
1. Starts fine - idles fine
2. @ 1/2 throttle - motor wants to die - can jiggle the throttle forward and back 2 or 3...
