    Are stators a weak link.

    I am starting to wonder if stators were prone to failing in the V6 135hp-150hp in the 1988-1989 models, or any other years or models. I have replaced two in the last 50 hours with no apparent reason. Anybody else have a similar experience?

    Over charging 135HP V-6

    Help Please no hair left. I have a 1988 Merc V-6 serial #OB334217. Voltage guage works up to 16 volts, verified by DVM. I replaced voltmeter, rectifier,and stator. Stator because I lost spark to one bank, I suspect Over charging took out the stator. All new parts still charging at 16 volts. I...
