    draining riser and exhaust with closed cooling

    just curious... is there a way or even a need to drain the exhaust risers with a FWC kit? the drain plugs all drain the coolant side... I know flushing with muffs after every use are still helpful but I'm more curious about with short term storage and any need to drain that area... thanks

    I just installed a fresh water cooling kit and haven't put any coolant yet... Do you recommend the boat specific coolants (20dollars a gallon) or is regular automotive coolant adequate consider it won't be changed yearly if at all... Thanks
