    Lower unit lube change?

For my DF 115 the Owner's Manual indicates that after draining the gear lube one is to refill using the lower plug hole and fill until lube reaches the upper hole.:confused: Can one not just replace the lower plug and fill from the top??? Seems to logical but they specifically...

    MW Apollo 3-blade redesign?

As I continue to reflect on what prop to go to to solve my performance problems (see the "Getting closer" post for the details), I'm leaning towards the MW Apollo because: 1) while I don't get the impression it's might be *the* best performing for my setup, it's close enough to the reputable...

    Getting closer but... UPDATED

On my 1700 Angler SS Lund w/ 115 Suz. 4-stroke, I went from a severely underpropped 13.25 x 15p 3-blade alum to a 13.75 x 17p 4-blade alum Solas Amita. The motor has a total of 4 possible mounting heights. I have only 1 more hole to drop before it sits in the water as low as it can. I still...

    Vent an aluminum prop?

Can the aluminum prop be vented safely such as is common with stainless props? Seems I never see "vented" and "aluminum" in the same posts. Planning on going to an aluminum 4-blade and would like to know if this is possible if my hole-shot needs a slight improvement. Thanks, Andy

    Hole shot blow out...

Is it unrealistic to believe I should be able to just hammer the throttle from a dead stop and not blow out (without being over propped)? My Suz DF115 and 17' Lund Angler requires an easy throttle to get the boat going or it'll blow out bad. Same for anywhere in the throttle range. (only 30...

    Solas Amita?

Does anyone have any experience with the Solas Amita 4-blade alum? I was beginning to think there was no 4-blade alum made for the Suz DF115. I have a stock 3-blade alum (waaaay under propped) now. I'm wanting the control and planing of a 4 blade but do not want stainless due to the rocks our...

    Decisions... desicions...

I'm just having a hell of a time deciding if I should go with a stainless 4 blade or stay with the alum 3 blade for my DF115. The boat (2004 Lund 17' Angler SS) is a heavy one and it sure could use the assistance of a 4 blade to get it to plane better at lower rpms. But all the waters I fish...

    Stinky Lund

Hi all, The in floor compartments on my 2004 1700 Angler SS have a "general fuel/garage smell" to them. I pulled the floor and checked the fuel tank but found no leaks. Clamps are all tight and no loss of fuel over the winter. Not strong gasoline smell like the thing is going to blow...

    115 4 stroke = 90 2 stroke?

As some may have read, I am working on resolving a prop setup problem. In that quest I have been trying to find a few people who have the same boat/engine combination as I have. Another item that I believe would help is: Is a 2000 or later Johnson 90 hp 2 stroke comparable in power to the 2004...

'04 Angler 1700 SS prop performance

Hi everyone, Cool web site for boat owners!!! Especially for the brand specifics! I could use some assistance with trying to figure out what kind of prop change, with a 2004 Johnson 115 HP 4 Stroke, will improve the performance of my boat and engine. I'm interested in a good compromise of top...

'04 Angler 1700 SS prop performance

Hi everyone, I guess it's time to revive this one on this forum. Can I hear from you that have a very similar boat using a 115hp 4 stroke engine? I would like to know what prop you all are currently using and how it performs for you. I have a post up in the prop forum but only got one answer...
