    ok I got the old elgin out and fired it off,it started and sounded good but only ran until the gas in the carb was used,pumped it up and restarted ok. the carb is marked marvel schebler m15,it is on a 1963 elgin 7 1/2. i have a open line on top of carb that goes to :confused: ?"help"? also does...

    help elgin 7.5 connections

    i picked up a nice early 60's elgin this weekend. fuel line is hooked up,does anyone here know what the hose connection on top of the carb is? i can see its been hooked to something but who knows what. also there is a large hose barb halfway down to the prop. any clues?it is a 7.5 hp 574 model.
