    Tilt trim Engine went up, won't come down

    My 1988 140 hp motor is stuck in the up position. It worked before, but when I raised the motor, it wouldn't come down. When I push the button, it doesn't make any noise on the down side. I can push up and it whines. Any suggestions? thanks:confused:

    water leaking 88 Johnson 140

    I just replaced the impeller on my Johnson 140 and now I have a leak around the lower unit where it bolts up. When putting the impeller in, I had a hard time keeping it from rubbing the small round rubber gasket. Did I dislodge it and that's why it's leaking? Also, noticed missing part that...

    I just bought a Mako with a Johnson 140 thrown in. I can crank, but doesn't run great. Compression is 80,90,75,90. (top left, bottom left, top right, bottom right) I increased numbers from putting Yamaha ring free in gas. (was lower on all four) Runs for a little while with pee hole running...
