Question is there a 4th bolt a very long one up inside after removing the lower gear housing. Looking on the web it shows a midsection and a very long bolts but dosent show exactly where it goes
Hello i have a 1986 8hp johnson sail master I removed the lower unit no problem. But the middle spacer refused to come down the drive shaft is out it ain't that. The shift rod is out it ain't that. The mid section is separated by about 1/2" but no further you would think it should just drop off...
I figured it out when I droped the lower unit to do the water impeller I saw up inside the midsection nuts that hold the rubber bushings in place. I guess whoever needs to replace them you need to drop the lower unit first.

How do the lower side mounts come apart the rubber end is torn off and just the steel half of the mount is on the side lower housing how are the mounted inflate

Oh also I been looking for a left hand propeller for a 2003 30hp johnson. And none to be found. Has anybody got ideas on where to find one or have a professional propeller store make one fit my shaft. Say like with a prop hub.
Could a outboard board buy switching the control cables front foward to reverse, and then putting a left hand propeller on will it work if say also the gearing in foward is the same as reverse. What did people do years ago before twins came about

Hello i have a teleflex 33c cable and lost the female 10-32 with a 1/4" hole cable end does anyone know where to buy another its not plastic, it's metal. I been looking and can not find one.

Also run a 3" pvc from the stearn up to the bow in 2 sections before and after the center consol so in the future you want to run new wires, shift cables, ect with ez without ripping the floor back up.
Oh and i replaced the flotation with a blue color home insulation i dont know what its called but will only retain 1% of water and comes in all thickness 1", 2" and 3" then i cut them to length and whith to stack up under the floor and
