Yesterday I found it would only lift up and not down.

Ive got an old johnson 60 electric shift on a 13ft race boat.
The motor ran great but last night I dropped my lower unit and installed another. This unit turns fine and I have run it before but now my motor wont rev up under load.

Ive got an old hydro electric shift Johnson 60 that does not have an above the waterline tell tale. I will be outfitting this boat with a water pressure gage very soon but I would also like to plum a line out the back of the motor. Where is the best spot to tap the water flow???
