I have been trying to research this for an answer with not much luck. My boat has 100 hours and I just bought it. Impeller changed and backing plate was machine flush again. Riser temps are 110 and 119 and engine is 160-165 so how can i have low water pressure with the engine running nice and...
I put in the hot water bypass hose. put 3 gallons of pink antifreeze and ran all faucets until pink comes out but when i turn on the hot water, nothing happens. The pump turns on but nothing comes out and not even air. Why?????
it doesn't say alpha on it. It is for a 245 Searay and the gimbal was just replaced and when turning hard right or left there is a banging noise which I think is the u-joints. Where can I get replacements and how much? not my boat, its a 1984
My gauge fluctuates from 165-180ish. I have good water flow and my risers and manifolds are not hot.(I can even touch underneath) My thermostat housing can also be touched and it is only warm so I am thinking my gauge is wacky. I have a 160 thermostat and my engine is salt water cooled. What...
would this idea work? I will drill a 5 gallon bucket and put in a hose connection down bottom and hookup the ears to the other end of the hose and put the water hose in the bucket to fill it up while my gravity fed hose supplies water to the engine to flush it out.
I am having problems on my...
I changed my thermostat and now my temp goes to 175ish then down to 150 and then back up and down and so on. Why is this? Is it ok? My other boat was the same way after changing the thermostat.
I flushed while in the water and the hose started collapsing but it didn't overheat so water was still circulating. Is it ok to keep flushing if hose squeezes together or will it squeeze tight enough to block the water from circulating? I didn't rev the engine by the way, idle only..... I...
It has been raining but I noticed a drip coming from the transom where the water hose hooks up to the transom. What could be leaking? It's above the u-joint bellows. could also be from rain coming from bilge vents
I just put my boat in 3 days ago.(Salt water w/aluminum anodes.)(new boat to me and 1st bravo 3) Do the zincs start working right away? I ask because the trim cyl. zincs are already looking not like new. There not pitted yet or anything but there not smooth and new like when I put them on...
I have never used one before so I put in a new can of butane, I lined up the notch put the cap on and tightened etc and I hear hissing. Is there supposed to be an o-ring or something? I am afraid to ignite to try it while I am hearing hissing.... Please help...(no o-ring on car, what seals it in?)
What do u think of these pieces? Definately time to change them. 9 years in NewEngland Salt water.......
PS. Engine ran fine and showed no signs of failure it was just time to change them out. Just in time... no rust inside heads.....
I changed the o-rings, lubed shafts and o-rings. cleaned the mating surfaces. bellows are OK. I think that's it right? slide it in, torque it down, reinstall speedo tube and thats it..... Did I forget anything?
no main gasket,only o-rings correct?
What do you use to tighten the studs into the cylinder head? I used vise grips. There is a center piece on the stud with no threads so I tightened it there. I'm glad that job is complete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (manifold/riser replacement) I will try to post a photo of the old parts if I figure out how.
I read a post awhile ago about the 2 nuts on the top of the gimbal ring. What do they effect if loose? I have a 1998 Bravo III. Is it a u/bolt? Do I have to go inside the boat to hold nuts on the inside to tighten or does it olny have nuts on the outside? Mine seems to be tight but not...
What is the special order to torque the nuts that hold the exhaust manifold to the head?
I actually had to use a dremel to grind & sand the crud attached to the head in order to get a smooth surface again. Yes I was careful not to remove much material, just the crap that needed to go.
