    Yamaha controller

After doing further research, I found that I needed two additional harness’ to hookup the gauges! I’m almost there now, but still need a bit of clarification! There are two separate pigtails coming from the controller, each with a red, blue, and green! These merge, with red to red, blue to...

    Yamaha controller

Would all the 703-48207 controllers have the necessary 7 wires for the tach and speedometer! Looking at pics, it’s hard to tell for sure.

    Yamaha controller

Thanks Boscoe! Just had not been able to find much info on the 48207! I always see another couple of numbers after the 48207,?like 16, 20, etc. Thinking they would indicate the length of the 10 pin harness! Thanks again!

    Yamaha controller

I need a control for the 2020 Yamaha F115 I just purchased. Can anyone tell me the difference between a 703-48205 and 703-48207. Only difference I might be seeing is that the 48207 has another pigtail of wires coming out from it to maybe connect to a digital speedometer, while the other...

    Gauges I might need

I have recently repowered my 1988 21’ Sylvan from a 1982 evinrude 150 to a 2020 Yamaha F115! I will need a new tach for sure! What about other gauges? The controller that came with the motor is an aftermarket 703 with a 10 pin plug and another shorter harness which I’m thinking would go to...

    No lift eye.

I have to remove my ‘82 evinrude 150 off the boat! No lift eye! ( if that’s what it’s called). Don’t really see any place to put one other than maybe loosen the fly wheel nut and see if one fits there. Other than that, maybe a cable under the flywheel. Any words of wit? Thanks!

    Floor replacement

B will be replacing the floor in my Sylvan Super Sportster this winter! While at Home Depot, I noticed 2 x 4 and 4x8 sheets of 1/2” white PVC. Any thoughts on using pvc as a new boat floor? Too slippery? Maybe place carpeting over it! If so what glue? All ideas, both yeah or nay, are welcome!

No spark on half the motor!

Power pack came in today! Installed it, and, SUCCESS! Firing on all 6 cylinders! Thanks for all your ideas!

No spark on half the motor!

Checked all the pins! Appears all is ok, on both sides of the engine! Ohms test on both sides, are between 18/19 for each pin! Don’t have DVA capability, so had to order the unit. Should be in soon! Now, decided to switch the power packs around just for the heck of it! This time the results...

No spark on half the motor!

Haven’t looked just yet, but would those wires be long enough to swap to the opposite side??

    Thanks! That would eliminate that

No spark on half the motor!

In summary, swapped power packs! No spark on either one! Swapped them back and the port side hood one still has spark! The starboard bad one still has no spark! Seems like I have a bad power pack and something also that should be feeding it, like a bad wire, connection, or what else...

No spark on half the motor!

I have to agree! I’ve looked and looked! Don’t see anything in the suggested location that looks anything like this alleged switch!

No spark on half the motor!

It amazed me, but when I got the engine running initially, I checked for spark! No spark on the starboard side! I know on a mercruiser, there is a shift interrupter switch that momentarily cut power so it can be shifted into gear easier! Didn’t know about any possibility of one being on an...

No spark on half the motor!

Update: the original motor was a 1988, 88 SPL! So the controller is 1988, hooked up to the ‘82 150hp. From what I’ve been able to find, the shift switch is in the controller, if there is one, correct? Also, I switched power packs and from side to side and got no spark from either! Switched...
