    Motor up or down at dock

    Does it matter whether or not you keep the motor up or down at the dock? I keep my boat in the river and I have about 6 feet at dead low so depth is not a problem. Is there any reason to keep it up? Some of the boats at my marina keep them up and others keep them down. Thanks, Tom
