    Seems like the fuel gauge is showing about 1/4 tank difference in level than what's actually in the tank. Is there any decent or better technology out there to install in onboard fuel tanks that can show a more accurate level in the tank on the gauge.

    Got the solid plugs in Saturday afternoon & installed. Solid plugs were a bit tight to get in but they're installed. Now I gotta get a breank the work schedule to see how the change did. Not sure about the gear box, but I'll take your word for it.

    Yep the 3 holes have a black bushing with the center totally open.

    Got the break in period in. Around 3000 rpm or so the motor feels like it's cavitating. Trimming the motor up seems to help a bit & steadies out around 4500 rpm. Called the dealer & they suggested moving the motor down one mounting hole. It only has one hole left to move the bolts to. Plus I...

    Winterizing

    What's the general consensus for putting up the boat for the winter. Top off the gas tank & add StarTron or Lucas Oil stabilizer to the tank? There seem to be different schools of thought for which ones to use. I've even heard about using a quart of "White Gas" aka Colman Fuel per 10gals?

    Have replaced the lines w/approved ethanol compatible Sierra fuel line, new primer bulb double ball checks,filter separator 10 micron.     looking to get a new combo unit. Most of them come pre loadebut do you also need to get a lake view or river card to see details? The Lowrance Elite series seem to be the most user friendly. Haven't checked the HumminBirds out but the Garmins aren't user friendly at all. What's every ones opinions?

    2002 Mercury 50hp OB loosing fuel flow

    I've replaced fuel line, primer bulb, rebuilt the fuel pump which is the electric type, but I haven't replaced the check valve & when the boats running the bulb doesn't stay hard & the OB cuts out till i pump the bulb up again.What else is left? :confused:

    2002 Merc 50hp doesn't start

    My 50hp OB has a remote mounted control on the sideconsole. The key igniton starts it when it's cool. but then it either stalls and then doesn't restart. The 20amp fuse is ok I checked the ignition switch according to the service manual and it checks out ok as well as the neutral start switch...
