    2008 Tohatsu 40HP restrictor plate?

    Can someone please tell me the differences in a 2008 TLDI 40hp and 50hp? I would like to know if there would be any benefit in removing the restrictor plate in the air intake. I know the 50hp does not have this plate and wonder if that is the only difference in the two engines. Thanks!

    Re: 1984 Johnson 40HP Tiller I took some pics of my engine last night and will try and post them. I see where the Max spark stop should be, but there is not one there. What about a Minimun timing stop? And how do you set the idle without a minimun stop screw? Thanks for all the help.

    The engine starts and runs fine on the water hose but when I put it in the water, it dies when I put it in gear.
