    Shifting from Forward into Reverse

    So I changed the Impeller and took the boat out. When in Forward I have to Go about 10degress more to get it to engage and when trying to go reverse the lever will click into neutral then I have to use both hands to go reverse. Once in reverse it will make a conk sound and then go in reverse...

    Can't get prop back on.

    I took my prop off my alpha 1 5.7 merc. to get it repaired. Now I cant get the damn thing back on.     Hard to shift from forward to reverse after I changed the water pump.

    Alpha one 5.7 Merc. I just changed the Impeller and now it does not shift smoothly from forward to reverse. I did top up the drive oil. Anything else that i am suposed to do?:confused:

    Thru Hull

    I have a 23' Maxum (Bayliner) Alpha one 5.7 Merc. I was thinking about trim tabs and a thru hull exhaust. Would th Thru Hull give me more performance? If so around how much more? 5 to 20hp????
