    Looking at a boat with a 1995 Evinrude 120 V4, anything I should know?

it's on a really clean looking Alumacraft for a seemingly good price. If we look at it will definitely check compression. It's a bit of a drive and mostly want to check on the reputation of these. I haven't come across anything bad but IBoats knows best!

    Looking at a boat with a 1995 Evinrude 120 V4, anything I should know?

As do all manufacturers, Evinrude had some outboards that shouldn't have been built. Any thoughts on these, anything I should look out for? Thanks in advance!

How can I troubleshoot the wrong trailer light

This is why I no longer mess around and just add a junction box to the winch post and run individual wires to each light....but as mentioned above check the tow vehicle fist with a test light to rule it in/out.

20 hp 4 stroke not peeing water

Took apart the lower and the impeller looks new. Would water pee out if the thermostat was still closed? It's my dad's motor so I have no past experience with it.

20 hp 4 stroke not peeing water

.....after about 20 seconds it started bubbling from the bottom pick up.

20 hp 4 stroke not peeing water

I have a 2011 20 hp 4 stroke that isn't squirting water out but I can definitely feel air coming out the hole with it running. Does this sound like an impellar issue? We used a compressor to blow air from the top and at first it seemed plegged but afdid eventu

Oil change interval, synthetic or no, curious what we all do

The ecoboost F150 gets synthetic or synthetic blend every 3000 ish miles. The '69 F100 gets dino 2x/year, probably 1500 miles between each change.

    1998 F150 Clutch question

Master isn't too bad, slave is in the bell housing. I wish I knew more about the initial symptoms but my kid has been wishy washy on his story. I know some air likely got sucked in while bleeding, and these are a PITA to bleed so I'd hate to throw in the towel and drop the tranny if I don't have...

    1998 F150 Clutch question

My kid thought the clutch pedal on his '98 F150 was getting squishy so he set out to bleed it. In the process he managed to twist off the top of the bleeder in the slave cylinder (conveniently located inside the bell housing). I haven't been able to get the broken bleeder out and if I don't...

Can trim pump be added to a 40hp that didn't come with it?

Thanks for the info. I figured aftermarket would be easiest but prefer keeping it factory if not too much of a PITA. Do you know if they were overall decent motors?

Can trim pump be added to a 40hp that didn't come with it?

I'm looking at this motor but it has no tilt. I came across a couple threads that made it sound like a factory trim/tilt pump can be a added to any of these motors and that they are pretty interchangeable. Anybody have more insight? IT's a 40hp tiller, the current owner thinks it's a 1995...

90 Etec tilt and trim pump leak

Oh, and most important, when bleeding it make sure you're aware of the Manual Relief Valve! I wasn't. My kid opened the valve and I didn't realize it.......which surely explains why I couldn't get it to bleed out. 5 turns of a screwdriver and she's working better than new. Whole process...

    Trim pump seal Question

Yeah, but to be fair it was overall a generic outboard question that didn't pertain to only OMC.

90 Etec tilt and trim pump leak

......AR7979-PT, not PR...... Doesn't matter as dealers don't recognize that number and only seem to sell it as a kit.

90 Etec tilt and trim pump leak

My conclusion......don't over think it! -PR 7979 PT Is the original outer seal. size is 19x27x5 I think this and the inner seal are the only issues in most cases. -If you buy a kit a lot of parts that come in the bag aren't needed. -My local evinrude guy can't/won't confirm it but an outer...

90 Etec tilt and trim pump leak

Thanks for the videos. I may be overthinking it as they all seem to gloss over the part where I'm stuck. I think the seal with the spring is technically wrong but will work and I shouldn't have tried to fit the o-ring into the one without the spring. The etecowners forum seems to be down so...

    Trim pump seal Question

Hope it's okay to put this here as it's a generic question. I'm replacing the seals on my ETEC trim pump. I bought 2 different seal kits under the same part number. The outer seal in one kit comes with a spring that wraps around, the other doesn't, but it came with an o ring that fits in that...

90 Etec tilt and trim pump leak

Do you mean E-Tec owners Group at Barnacle Bills? Unfortunately the manual shows little if anything. The part# cross references to Yamaha and Volvo/Penta and I'm guessing most trim seals are similar so I was hoping someone had done one before.

90 Etec tilt and trim pump leak

OK, the original seal part # is AR 7979 and the size is 19x27x5, so that's good. My questions: Should the outer seal have a spring in it or not? The first kit I bought had a spring in it. With the spring in place it was a pretty tight fit and we broke the seal. I bought a cheaper kit and the...
