I'm trying to replace the seals in the LU of '89 200XP Evinrude. The gearcase around the bearing housing is all corroded and it won't budge. I've removed the 4 bolts in the gearcase housing. Is there something I'm missing or is it just stuck? I don't won't to break anything.
I'm looking possibly buying a '89 200XP Evinrude. I put a water muff on the motor and cranked and I notice water and oil coming out of the prop. Is this a sign that the seals are bad and need replacing? I have done the seals on '80 Mercury. Are they similiar in replacing?
I'm a newbie and I just looked at this Stratos today. I was wondering what are the specs and year model of this boat. The number is BNZ8W285J889.
