    twisting the grip doesn't seem to work, so i am thinking the cable needs lubed on my 1990 20 hp johnson. it will turn if you assist by pushing on the linkage. if that's the problem what do you guys use to clean the gunk out of the cable and lubricate it.

    i was wondering will a jack plate raise the motor enough to use my 9.9 long shaft on a 15" transom? if it will it will have to be cheaper than converting the lower unit to a short shaft.

    i have a force /gamefisher 9.9 hp but i got an omc tank with it. i think i figured out the engine side. the tank side has me stumped. is it a standard fittiog that fits it ? don't remember seeing an end with that many holes in the female side.

    by that I don't mean it's not working, I mean it really doesn't have one. there is a hole in the case for one. to me it looks like the water is coming out two holes just below the cowling in the middle of the lower case. must admit I have never seen this before. your thoughts. thx bob
