    9.9 carb jets in a 15 hp carb

    I have a 75 johnson 9.9 that has a 15 hp carb on it,the carb has 9.9 jets in it. The motor runs ok butI havent had a load on it yet and dont want to lean it out with more air and not enough fuel.     1975 johnson 9.9

    I have a 75 9.9 johnson that Ihave been trying to get right,first question is that it has a 15 hp carb with a 51 jet which I think is for a 9.9, will that be ok? The next problem is that it will not run with the cover on, but runs ok with it off. Thanks for any info in advance.
