I am trying to find the part number (or the part) for the plug that goes on the outside of the upper part of the sterndrive. It is an OMC Cobra 5.0 liter. One of the two plugs came out and I need to replace it. There is one on each side and it has the OMC logo on it. I have found drawings and...
Do these tend to wear out? Does the tensioner tend to wear out? I just replaced a 470 motor in a boat I have and it seems to be making a slapping sound in the front half of the motor. When you idle it up a little it goes away. Sounds like a timing chain to me but not sure. I don't want to tear...
I am new to boats and I was out Sunday going about 3/4 throttel and a loud knock started and the engine died. I cranked it back up and it had a knock like a rod bearing. I slowly drove it about two more miles to the boat ramp and loaded it up.
It is a 170 HP mecruiser in a 1986 Century (19'6")...
