    How to find a lower unit?

    A relative has an 85 Merc. 50hp 4cyl. Lower unit broke, boat shop can't get it apart to rebuild it they said to go find a used L/U (1980-1985).     9.9 to 15 upgrade

    I'm currently running a '93 Johnson 9.9 on a 14' aluminum fishing boat. I've been concidering upgrading the carberator to a 15 for a few years now. The dealer wants about $300 to install and setup a new carb.<br /><br />Does this sound like it's worth it? Should I buy the carb and install myself...
