I have a 1982 Johnson 115(sea horse) that cranks and in nutral runs great. The issue is when I put in in gear and "throttle down" it bogs down and does not accelerate and reach optimal RPMS, that is unless I hold the "push to choke" ignition key down then it revs up gets on plane and runs great...
