I have a new to me outboard that starts but wont rev, the key is wrong i believe but it does turn the ignition and start the engine.
is there a way to bypass the ignition by unplugging it and Jumpering wires?

I bought this engine and the person said it had an electrical fire , it looks like he put an automotive solonoid in and it shorted out some wires(by the blue clip) by rubbing against them..Can anyone identify this burned out piece by the oil filter? Thank you.
I got this boat for free, no engine or trailer. It says its a Critchfield from Florida but thats all i can see. Also what kind of inboard/outboard should i use for this boat?
