    Valve cover gasket?

    Hello everybody Can anyone help me out with the part number for a Mercruiser 165 inline 6? I got the boat to start thanks to DonS's help!! But it's leaking like a motha from the front side of the valve cover. I'm getting there though. Thanks guys

    trying to get my '72 Merc 165 onto the water ASAP. No crank while starting(working on the wiring) but have no clue what this is. When I connect it to the battery it sounds like some kind of pump. it is in between the battery and the engine and in front of the exhaust tubes. Thanks guys

    Mercruiser 165 wiring help?

    Just inherited a '72 trihull with a merc 165 in it. Won't start and no click got me thinking.....Should I deal with the wiring mess that is in the boat(past and present wiring) or just take them all out and start over? Starter is new and alternator is new too. ANy suggestions for a Merc...
